What the beta is
The beta is a small, hand-picked group — the first 100 people — trying Clawgnition before it opens more widely. It is invite-only: sign-ups are gated behind an invite, so you need a link to join.
What you get
- Comped storage. Your storage allowance is free during the beta — up to 100 GiB across up to 10 vaults — with nothing to pay.
- No card, no checkout. There is no payment method on file and no Stripe checkout to clear. Billing simply is not wired during the beta.
- Guided setup. Connecting centraid is a hands-on, step-by-step flow rather than an automatic one-click provision. You point centraid at Clawgnition and enter your own encryption keys, so your vault stays end-to-end encrypted and we never see it. The full walkthrough is Guided setup.
- Direct support. If something breaks or feels off, you can reply straight to the operator — the person building this reads every message.
Guided setup, not one-tap
During the beta, setup is deliberately hand-held rather than fully automatic. A zero-typing, server-assisted onboarding is something we may add later, but it is not part of the beta and we will not promise it here. Keeping setup manual for now is a feature, not a gap: entering your own encryption keys is exactly what keeps them on your device and out of our hands.
Why there is no lifetime promise
We say your allowance is "free during the beta" and we deliberately do not use the word "lifetime" or promise any permanent free entitlement. That is an honesty choice, not a bait-and-switch. A promised unbounded free grant is a commitment we could not responsibly walk back, and making it now — before prices even exist — would tie our hands. We would rather keep the wording reversible and, if anything, surprise proven users with generosity later than lock in a promise today that we might not be able to honour. When billing does open, beta users hear about it first, before anyone else.
How to join
If you have an invite link, follow it to sign up. If you do not, you can request early access and, if a spot opens, you will be sent an invite with a link and a pointer to the setup steps.
Common questions
Will I be charged during the beta?
No. There is no card on file and billing is not wired during the beta. See Billing & quota.
Is my free allowance permanent?
It is free during the beta, and we do not promise it forever — that is intentional. When pricing is decided, beta users are told first.
Can I share my invite with a friend?
Invites are single-use and tied to one sign-up, and your grant is personal to your account and not transferable. If you know someone who would be a good fit, point them to request early access.
What if I hit a bug?
Reply to your invite email or reach out however you were contacted — it goes straight to the operator. For security issues specifically, use the private channel on Privacy & security.
